Playing FL Pick 3

To play Pick 3, select three numbers from 0 to 9 or get a random Quick Pick. You also need to choose from one of the following play types:

• Straight - To win a Straight, the three numbers you select must be drawn in that exact order.
• Box - With a Box, your three numbers can appear in any order. Depending on the combination of numbers you play, a Box is either referred to as 3-Way or 6-Way. A 3-Way Box has two numbers that are the same, such as 112 or 707. These numbers can only be arranged three ways (e.g. 112, 121, 211). A 6-Way Box has three different numbers - 123, for example, can be ordered as 123, 132, 213, 231, 312 or 321.
• Straight/Box - Half your wager goes on a Straight and half on a Box. This effectively gives you a back-up if your Straight prediction just misses out - you still win a payout if your numbers all appear in a different order.
• Front Pair - Pick the two numbers you think will be drawn in the first two positions. You must match them both exactly to win.
• Back Pair - A prediction on the second and third winning numbers. You win if they are both drawn in the order you have specified.

A Straight/Box play has a fixed cost of $0.50. For every other play type, you can choose whether to spend $0.50 or $1.

Select whether to enter the next Midday draw, Evening draw, or both. Play up to a maximum of 14 consecutive days in the Advance Play section.

You must also decide whether to add Fireball to your ticket. The cut-off time for purchases is 1:19pm for the Midday draw, or 9:34pm for the Evening draw.

What is Fireball?

Fireball is an optional extra which doubles the cost of your play if you add it on. The advantage is that it gives you a much better chance of winning, as it effectively gives you another number that you can match.

A Fireball number is drawn after the three main numbers. You can then swap out any of the main numbers for the Fireball to get a winning combination. For example, if you play 123 as a Box, and the numbers selected are 712, you would lose on the base game. However, if the Fireball drawn is a 3, this can replace the 7 and be used to create the winning combination 312.

Prizes and Odds

To win a Pick 3 prize, you must match your numbers as per your play type. For example, if you play a Straight, you need to match all three digits in order. There's a range of payouts on offer, based on the play type selected and the amount you have wagered.
